Third Edition of RR IRL...

Todsy's edition of Riff Raff in Real Life comes from

Sandy Pool

You can check out her work at her blog http://www.paperpoppies.blogspot.com/

We asked Sandy to tell us a little bit about herself as well as why she loved Riff Raff and here is what she had to say:

I really do LOVE riff raff and almost fell over when I found it in a local store - I stocked up! I love the unconventional shapes like the sewing machine, the robots, the the tree - they're so cute - all of them. The best part for me though is the super-sturdy chipboard, and I adore the natural, simple look of it!! I like it best just as it is, in that awesome paper-bag color. (-:

I never really know what to say about myself but well, I'm Canadian, and I have a great lil' family, including a husband, a lilttle girl, and a giant, furry dog. I work full-time as a high school teacher and love my job. In my spare time though I'm all about making stuff - I could play with crafts, and fabric, and paper all day long.

I embossed some parts of the chipboard with black sparkle embossing powder and the other parts with black distress embossing powder. I also cut the flourish in half, flipped one half, then stuck it back together

RRD_Lis_Jun05

RRD_Lis_Jun06

on "Father": I outlined the word with a thick black American Crafts Slick Writer. then painted the entire surface in green

on the postage frame: I sprayed the entire shape with "Slate" Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (a couple of coats)

RRD_Lis_Jun07

RRD_Lis_Jun08

both shapes I used on this layout have Tattered Angels glimmer mist on them (a couple of coats each). I used the leftover part of the postage frame that I cut on the Father layout.

RRD_Lis_Jun09

RRD_Lis_Jun10

the medium frame has been left natural, with a text stamp in black ink across the entire surface. i punched holes in the top of the frame, threaded some tulle through to make a wall hanging. the frame is backed with pattern paper

the grad word (from a previous release) was just painted black

RRD_Lis_Jun11

RRD_Lis_Jun12

this time on the clock I used Platinum Stickles all over the shape. And i backed it with some white cardstock

RRD_Lis_Jun13

RRD_Lis_Jun14

I applied Platinum stickles all over the lamp post. and painted the postage stamp black.
